Synopsis:	SURVIVING is an intimate portrait of the relationship between the filmmaker and her adoptive mother a Holocaust survivor, as the filmmaker attempts to come to terms with the legacy that she has inherited. The film was shot verite style in a small apartment in Queens, New York where she spent one month in her childhood room confronting the complex issues of their relationship. The film flows between the daily life of an aging mother seen through her daughter’s eyes and the heated exchanges between the two women. SURVIVING explores the past through eyes of the present. It is a truly honest film, with unedited emotion, about loss, acceptance and family.
